Christmas Music on Bass Guitar

Sign in to disble this ad
Every Christmas, I get the itch to play Christmas Songs on the bass, acapella style. Does any one know of any good audio recordings or YouTube videos that demonstrate "bass arrangements" of Christmas songs? An example of a bass arrangement (that I'm talking about) can be found at: youtube.com/watch?v=cOrMPcOfVJY

I believe it is relatively impossible to play something on bass 'acapella style'.

I believe you have never tried.

I don't have any recordings, but I arranged a couple years back; if I can find the sheet music, I'll scan it up and send it over.

???Why Not???

Silent Night, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, We Three Kings, even Frosty The Snowman all seem possible just to scratch the surface.

I was just being an ass since a capella is a style of music which uses no instrumentation, thus playing bass a capella is not possible.

Actually, there's a YouTube video for First Noel; put in "Bass Solo Instrumental - Christmas Carol;" accompanying bass tab at custombass.cafe24.com Arrangement by "HJ Freaks." However, it's a Japanese site; most of the rest of the material on it is in Kanji...I also downloaded it last year, so won't promise it's still there. I thought I had a copy of the downloaded notes & tab, but it's not on my computer; if the site ain't there any more, let me know and I'll scan the stuff I have into my computer and email the resulting jpeg files out to anyone who wants a copy...

Yep, that's the one. I wish I could play that well, but at least I'm starting to get there...
