Another one bites the dust.

"Summertime Blues" has become a jingle for Applebee's.

Eddie Cochrane must be spinning in his grave. His estate's probably not.

The first movement of Claude Bolling's Suite For Flute And Jazz Piano Trio -"Baroque And Blue"- always grabs the audiences' attention in my country because it was used many years ago for a clothes' soap jingle and I think for a Yogurt jingle also.

L.V. Beethoven's Turkish March from "Ruins Of Athens" is extremely popular among latin people because it's the main theme of a really old (but still successful) mexican sitcom called "El Chavo".

Say what you will about good songs being spoiled by use in commercials, but that one with "Another One Bites the Dust" is the best!

I hate this stuff nearly as much as some TBers hate Jaco-hatin'. Except for the 'Another one bites the dust' one. That rocks.

I've noticed the trend of putting some older tunes in commercials for the sake of putting old tunes in commercials. I don't really feel they are being butchered, but when I hear an ELO song under a FedEx commercial, I'm just left thinking:

I thought that one was incredibly stupid: Alabama Fried Chicken? Well, that would make sense. Sweet Home Kentucky... that would too... but I don't think this one works out.
