Classical/Acoustic Piezo Pickup Help Needed

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been extensively playing my classical as of late, and with practice eventually comes performance. I'm looking for a pickup that will be easy installation, and cheap. I've been looking at a few, and this is the one that has grabbed my attention:

Duncan Performer Maverick Soundhole Pickup: Shop Accessories & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend
Can anyone give me the down low on this? If anyone knows, I am also wondering about the cord length on that sucker.

I looked at some of the more expensive Seymour Duncans and a Dean Markley. If any of you guys have some advice for my search, throw me a bone. This guitar stuff is hard!

is your classical a steel string? I do not think these would work with nylon or gut strings. Maybe a under the saddle piezo might be up your alley, or even a soundboard contact piezo

I've been looking into some of the contact piezo pickups, but I can't seem to find one with good reviews at a nice price.

I assumed it the Duncan was magnetic. Mine is indeed a nylon, so I don't believe it would work. Reading the description on MF, it doesn't exactly describe the tech. Or the cable length, which annoys me to no end.

There is an acoustic steel string in my possession, so buying it wouldn't be a loss to try. Eventually, I will NEED one for the nylon, and installing a jack would cost more time and money than the guitar itself.
