Classical guitar Vs Double bass

Which one do you think helps playing electric bass more, as it seems we use a bit of techniques from both instruments.

I'm about to do a research project on this subject.

I think Classical guitar is much more similar physically and conceptually very different - although it's perfectly possible to use CG techniques on bass.
Double Bass is very different physically (longer scale length, higher tension strings etc) but very similar in how it is used within music.

Are there many other Classical Guitar players on TB?

I spent the first 6 years of my musical education obsessed with the classical guitar.

It helped me tremendously. Everything I ever learned about playing and learning that really mattered came from that time.

That is more a matter of the classical study than the instrument chosen. You can always tell a player that came from the classical school. Technique and execution is everything.
