Cleveland OH Stores

Sign in to disble this ad
I am going to be traveling to Cleveland OH on business and like visiting stores, (just to make sure my GAS doesn't subside when I am away from home)

Can you Cleveland guys give me some names of shops to visit. (please not GC's or the like)

Thanks in advance; looking forward to visiting your fair city.

chris

never been there but i've heard "timeless guitars" in parma is pretty awesome. lot of good vintage and boutique stuff.

other than that, i really don't know what to recommend. we don't have any bass specific or superstores (bass nw, central etc.). just your standard mom and pop stores and guitar centers.

what are you looking for? bass only or other insturments as well?

Thanks Mark! Bass only. The top of my GAS list is high end cabs an effects.

hmmm. the only high end stuff in cleveland are Hill Guitars (basses too) and Dr. Z amps. Both are super high end boutique, and are the manufacturers and workshops. don't know if they have store fronts as well.

Dale at Village Music has a lot of nice Gibson guitars. I'm not sure what he has in the way of basses though. I guess we really don't have that much going on around here!

I spent a year in Cleveland for a week at a computer company symposium back in 1980. My partner in crime and I asked EVERYBODY where the absoluely best music venue was and all we kept getting back was this Holiday Inn over on such and such...

We just blew this off totally. It was getting pretty bad and after the 20th person to say the Holiday Inn well we decided to head over. We had our expectations of MURPH AND THE MAGIC TONES without the talent. But thought the place might be full of bedazzled beauties frustrated by the lack of real entertainment. My buddy and I were raring to go.

When we got there we could hear the music from down the hall and were presented with a HUGE SHOWBAR and the best by far Queen Cover Band I had ever heard. These guys were AS GOOD as Queen in the studio. I even went and talked to them about coming to MSP as they were great. BUT didn't travel...

So you have to really dig in there and CLE has it's stuff going on, it just doesn't have signs by the side of the road pointing to where the stuff is happening. BOB

I like Dale and his store but it gets pretty old hearing about how he's the oldest Gibson dealers in the area every single time!

I travel there on business every so often (actually in Lorain, west of Cleveland). One trip I decide I'm going to hit the music stores. I went to the Yellow Pages and wrote down about 3 or 4 places on the west side. I went to every one of them and I hate to admit, the GC was the best place I visited. If I have more time, I'll try the east side and see how that fares. I'm spoiled because I have a place like this in my little hometown of La Crosse.... http://www.davesguitar.com/
