Clever Tribute Act Names

Sign in to disble this ad
I'veseen my fair share of tribute acts come through here, and many of them are simply named after a song or an album by the group their playing.

Sometimes the names do get clever (and sometimes better than their playing), however. One's I've liked included:

Aeromyth
Rolling The Stones
Shania's Twin

Anyone else know of clever names for tribute bands?

I've heard of "Petty Fever" but my favourite has got to be the bluegrass cover of AC/DC called "Hayseed Dixie".

Duran Duran Jam Band Band, at least that what I would call a Duran Duran tribute band.

I know of a metalica tribute in Montana, but they do not call themselves Montanica. I consider it a wasted opportunity.

Dallas in Chains used to be called "the donkey show" but I dunno what the connection was with the latter name. They made the right choice eventually.

Long Gone Bon! Mark Tutko and the boys. Haven't seen them since the early 90's, when I lived in the San Jose area. Cool to see they are still around.

Long ago back in the day there was a G'n'R tribute band called Runs in yer Hoses.

And this from the Simpsons:
Becky (to Otto): You got Poison to play at our wedding!?
Lead Singer: We're CYANIDE, A loving tribute to Poison!
Drummer: We need a ride home!

If I had a Hair tribute act, I'd call it David Coverband.
