Coffin Case Prodcuts Review

I've always been a fan of the Coffin product line, and never imagined that I would one day, own a coffin case.

The first item I ever used was the "coffin case universal body bag":

This differs from the Econo bag, as it has a pouch on the inside, to carry stuff in, and to support the shape of the bag. In all honesty, This bag is made for basses that fit the typical "Fender Profile"...so crazy Kramer headstocks and B.C. Rich's won't fit in here (not that it's a problem, because all of my basses fit the "fender profile").

Other than that, it's stylish, has a velvet interior, and is VERY durable. It has some sort of hard material incorporated into the bag, so it could possibly prevent disastrous drops and dents.

The second coffin product I own, is the Coffin Bass locker:

It can hold three basses, or one bass and one acoustic guitar. It appears that the locker could accommodate a Kramer-style, but I've yet to try it. The interior is lined with imitation-fur, has button style clips for securing the basses, and an interior pouch for holding accessories. It has two casters for rolling, one handle on the top of the locker, and one on the side (for carrying up stairs, albeit, it's quite heavy with three P-basses inside).

the front panel is sometimes tricky to get on and off, but I don't really mind that so much.

The greatest benefit out of all this, are the looks, as well as reasonable pricing. I've yet to see any other Bass locker on the market, but I certainly doubt that it's as cool as this one.

Meev! I looked up coffin cases just to see if anyone has any info on them and YOU do That locker looks wicked. The first one is a soft gig bag?

As cheesy as it is, I've been eyeing a white Coffin hard case for my Edwards with a forest body but I have no idea if it will fit or if the case is durable enough. Am hesitant to shell out $100 for something that might not fit :/

Thanks, and yes, it's very heavy! I have 3 P basses in there, at about...oh...13 pounds each. Then my pedalboard (4 pedals), and cables....and bullet-belt strap. Combine that with and awkward and bulky shape, it gets extremely heavy (my guess, maybe, 70 pounds, maybe more, maybe less, but it's a chore to carry up and down stairs).

hahha thanks! Just thought I should make a useful contribution to TB

To your question, I want to say "no". The "Econo Bag" is really, really soft, while the "Body Bag" has some sort of plastic incorporated into the body, so that it can actually take a beating. It's the nicest gig-bag I've ever had.

As far as the White Coffin Hardshell case, you need to check the measurements of your bass, as well as the case. Which bass do you have? As far as I know, the coffin product line is mostly made to accommodate the "Fender profile", which works for me, but unfortunately, not for everyone else.
