Coldplay Bass Tone

I have been watching/listening to a station called palladia all day. They are airing VH1's Storytellers episode with Coldplay. I have to say I am completely loving the bass tone. It's big and round with a pronounced woody (hollow) mid-range. He's using pick with an old (looking) wine red P-bass with a rosewood board, flatwounds, a Badass II, through HiWatt amps and cabs that are mic'd (probably going direct as well). I hear some sort of nice smooth distortion in some of the songs. What a cool tone!

Anyone know what Guy Berryman's setup consists of?

Probably similar to Stu Hamm's

he uses p-basses and hiwatt amps and cabs. and i believe a tone bender fuzz pedal. i agree on the awesome tone though
