Happens in rap all the time:

Mc hammer used Rick James' 'super freak' on 'can't touch this'

Vanilla Ice used Queen's 'under pressure' on 'ice ice baby'

I could go on...

I do this often to mess with my guitarists. I will play my bass lines from a completely different song! I really like doing that when 1 of the 3 in particular is playing his songs. It really is funny to watch him struggle to sing over it

I think those were intentional, weren't they? I was looking for accidental matches, funny ones if you can!

Well samples don't count...

Sweet Home Alabama ripping of this song always bugged me, though early Zep wasn't particularly original either.

I was just thinking of those two...

I just posted that Blues Magoos link in a different thread...they had some attitude!
I have also been checking out MKII Deep Purple videos of late, too.

Did you know that Emil Thielhelm aka "Peppy Castro" from The Blues Magoos had a few other bands including Barnaby Bye, Wiggy Bits, and Balance that included guitarist Bob Kulick, keyboardist Doug Katsaros, drummer Chuck Burgi, and bassist Dennis Feldman?

These were all good bands and Balance had some hit records.

Well, there's the electric bass part to Prince's "When Doves Cry" which is exactly the same as Andy Fraser's verse part on "Alright Now", and they're both the same as what Bill Wyman played on the verses of "Honky Tonk Women"...

BTW, that line is an important lesson for all musicians to learn, I think.

Pretty sure those songs just have the same chord progression, they really are different lines. Or was this post just in reference to songs with same chord progression?

I am pretty sure there isn't a bass line in When Dove's Cry?
