Concerts are Booming in My City

After last year when Iron Maiden came through (a personal highlight) plus Megadeth's Gigantour, Rush, Judas Priest, some smaller concerts and a bunch of concerts my wife liked (Elton John), I wasn't sure how this year's concert line up was going to fare. Well my fears are no more. Nothing that will pump me up like the Iron Maiden show but man there are some pretty damn fine shows coming our way. Not sure if it's true or not but they say Western Canada is the most active area for concerts in North America right now. The shows keep selling and the acts keep coming.

Here is the line up:

Lamb of God (well about 2 weeks ago)
Mastadon (1 week ago)
Testament - May 9
Canadian Carnage - Megadeth/Slayer co-headlining with Machine Head and Suicide Silence - June 29
Aerosmith/ZZ Top Double Bill August 7th - outdoor stadium show announced today (May4)
AC/DC - stadium show -sold out 41,000 seats gone in 20 minutes August 22
Metallic - October 12 - sold out

Plus other acts like Keith Urban, Rod Stewart etc who I won't go and see but they all seem to be doing big business.

Pumped for Canadian Carnage and for AC/DC who I haven't seen in almost 20 years.

Winnipeg seems to be getting a bunch of great shows. There are a few indie bands that I want to see live that are doing North American tours, they are all hitting up Winnipeg and not stopping at all in Southern Ontario. We have half of Canada's population.
