Considering giving up my band/semi-retiring

I have been really thinking about officially leaving my band and selling my PA. I will keep my basses, etc. Maybe doing the occasional sub gig and work on my quest to own every production bass ever made (at least for a little while.) I have been toying with the idea of taking up the double bass. Play some bluegrass, tinker with jazz and rockabilly.

Do what makes you happy. If the current situation's not working for you, why continue playing unhappily. The feeling potentially might be echoed within your performances, enough to translate to the audience.

The double bass takes dedicated study & skill. Not really something to "toy" with. But again, as long as you're doing it because you enjoy it, then that should be all that's important.

Sometimes stepping away from a situation helps freshen things up.
My last gig was 2 years ago and it has afforded me a lot of time to
work on some different styles & technique that I never had the time for.
But, right now I'm itching for a gig.
