Cool music stores to go to in Minneapolis/St. Paul

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I'm headed to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this weekend and I'm looking for a music store or two to check out while I'm there.

Looking for something a little more boutique and not the usual Guitar Center. I'm from a smaller town that has like one local music store so I'd like to go somewhere that doesn't stock just Mexican Fenders and Ibanez basses.

Post em up! Thanks.

I'm partial to Willie's American Guitars. 254 CLEVELAND Ave. S. in St. Paul.

I've spoken with the folks at Planet Bass, but since you can't just walk into their showroom--they only do appointments--I've not yet visited. They're located at 12930 63rd Avenue North, Maple Grove. 763.670.6464
If you go there, let us knohow it is, eh?

Twintown is my favorite. Decent amount of basses, lots of effects around and good prices.
Willie's has some sweet stuff, from vintage Fender to Rickenbackers.
Encore has a bunch of old amps & a few basses.
I have heard that "My Music Store" has some really sweet gear, but I haven't made it up there yet.

Any of those will get you a different selection from GC.

Awesome. I also asked my buddy who's going to the recording and producing school there and he recommended Willies American Guitars as well. I'll probably check that one out first. I only have a day really and my roommates want to hit up the Mall of America.

Thanks for the help!
