Could you help me buy a bass drum?

Hello,

My nephew bought some drums in parts. He got snare drum, hi-hat, some cymbals.

Now he is looking for a bass drum that's less than $200.

He doesn't know how to look for a good one, neither do I.

I got a couple of links from ebay:

What do you think of these? Or is it easier to buy them from a local music store? Will they have used stuff?

I don't have much clue about bass drums.

Thanks

It might be hard to find a bass drum being sold individually for less than $200. Most of the ones I've seen by themselves are vintage concert size drums from the 40s-60s that have been separated from the rest of the kit. Swingerland, large Ludwigs, etc. I saw these on Craigslist. If I were you, I'd keep an eye on your local Craigslist 'Musical Instruments' section and nearby areas until something comes up. Either that, or like you said, ask a music store if they know of any.
The problem is that most cheaper bass drums would be offered with at least a tom-tom or two attached to the top of it, as part of a kit.
