The Coup

OK, I'm not much of a rap fan, usually I hate it. BUT, I saw Les Claypool in July, and these guys (The Coup) opened for them.
First off, let me say that I was very impressed with the live band. Apparently, and I didn't find this out until after the show, The Coup is actually just the singer and a DJ on the albums, he just uses a 3 man band for touring (guitar, bass, drums). And I must say, these guys managed to blend some funk, rock/metal, soul and rap all together and pulled it off wonderfully. I loved the show.
But when I listened to their studio stuff, it just sounds like any other rap artist to my ears.
My question is, and this is probably a long shot, does anyone here know anything about the touring band? Who are they? Do they have any albums out? ANYTHING? The 3 musicians alone would've been worth the price of admission, adding some very skilled vocals to it was just an unexpected bonus. So, if anyone knows anything, please let me know.
Here is a little bit about them:

Remember, the music in that^ link does NOT have the incredible band I saw live, and it's honestly nothing special. Somewhere on the myspace page it says he's playing with Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine & Audioslave), but he definitely wasn't at the concert I saw.
