Cover band Inquiry

I've seen many threads over the past few weeks about various 90's specific cover Bands. Never playing in a cover band myself, I'm just wondering a few things because my early twenties saw a huge explosion of less then mainstream Music in the 90's. However much of what I remember that was considered mainstream, I really couldn't see people covering unless it's like a lot of Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, STP, "alternative" rock or whatever. (I hate that word)

1. What songs are you guys playing? Can you give an example of a Standard set list?

2. Are you playing a specific Genre or is it a general whatever kind of thing?

3. Are you guys resurrecting some hidden Gems that many people didn't know about, or just playing stuff that people can dance too?

4. What kinds of places have a market for this stuff?

5. Are You making decent $?

Thanks for appeasing my curiosity.

Here there is an audience for classic rock, and a big audience for 80s music. Haven't seen much for 90s music though. Interested in seeing what other people say.

We added a new singer about 8 months ago, and he has gotten us to move our "classic" songs from mostly 70s & 80s, to 80s & 90s. There were some popular bands from SC and the southeast that are still very well liked in our area, and we've added some of their songs, such as:

Cravin Mellon: Come Undone, Sweet Tea
Hootie & The Blowfish: Hold My Hand, Hannah Jane, Let Her Cry
Sister Hazel (Of course they're still putting out albums, but came out big in the mid 90s): Release

My daughter is a sophmore at Clemson, and she and her friends keep me up on what they are listening to, and in addition to all of the new stuff that's popular everywhere, they also listen to a ton of classic stuff, and are one of our bands biggest supporters when we play out. I can't tell you how many times I had them ask me if we play any Journey.

We also do a good bit of country, as that is as big as anything else around here, and we have success with new and old. Last weekend we played Alabama's "Feel So Right'" and we had the most dancers of the evening out on the floor. That old gem always shines around here.
