| Crackle painted bass

I am currently in the process of frankenizing my old squire. I've defretted it and I'm gonna put some new pups and tone/volume on it. However I'm thinking about repainting it with a crackle paint. I'd do it with a black undercoat and an ivory top coat which would crack and reveal the black underneath. I don't know how it will look, but I have always felt like P-basses look like frumpy old furniture, so I want it to look like that. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any pictures of basses or guitars painted like this?
