Craft Basses = Craft Beer?

Sign in to disble this ad
A few posting exchanges earlier today led me to this thought.

Is there a connection between the bass you play and the beer you drink in terms of "not going with the flow"?

A few definitions here (didn't want to clutter up the poll):

-Common beers would be Bud, Miller, Coors, and anything you can get in something larger than a 12-pack of cans.
-Craft beers would be from smaller breweries (if you're picking this, I don't need to go any farther).

-Common basses would be Fenders, Gibsons, Rics, and almost anything you'd fully expect to see on the wall at GC.
-Esoteric basses would be makers few people outside the bass world have ever heard of (Nordstrand, Conklin, Mike Lull, Pensa-Suhr, Bee, F, Rob Allen, you get the idea).

Hoping the poll covers most bases (basses?). Not an endorsement at all; just wondering is all.

I tend to love almost all basses but prefer craft beer (also known as Micros). Your turn.

I dunno if my bass is "Common", it's a Fender, but I rarely see other people with one.

I do like a good craft beer. New Belgium 1554 is my current beer of choice.

2 Elricks, yesterday I had Sam Adams, Dogfish IPA and a couple IPA's and Stouts from a local brewery.

That about covers it for me.

I've ordered custom basses before but they don't quite do it for me (I currently have one in the works, third time is a charm hopefully), but I love my 3 off-the-shelf basses. However, with beer I'm a super snob. Sam Adams is about as lowbrow as I go when it comes to such things.

I just realized I never claimed a vote here: Common basses (Fenders and Ibanezes), craft brew. Just the way it goes, I guess.
