so i put an ad out saying I wanted to jam on craiglist. an hour later I had two emails replying to my ad.

one was a band, which may or may not be a band i want to play with and another was a guy from AK who's moving down.

so far so good, right?

anyone with any experience with craigslist want to share their stories, good or bad?

I've had some good luck with on line postings similar to Craigslist. Be prepared to have to sift through a fair share of idiots though. You have an advantage in that you just want to jam because there are plenty of people in your boat. It's much more difficult to find a good paying gig with music you dig and cool people.

i am am experienced guitar/bass player that has fallen on semi/hard times.iam a auto mechanic by trade but have over thirty years on playing both amatuer and pro.i can read music and pickup whatever your trying to do extremly fast.i can crossover and play just about anything but punk/screamo/death metal.in other word, real music, not noise.my preference would be classic rock/blues/country/southern rock(allman bros-skynyrd)/80s/90s.i really like pretenders and tom petty.here is my offer.i have had to sell off a lot of my gear simply to exsist so if you can provide a decent playing p bass or a ibanez gsr200 for me to play,i will buy it from you on an agreement and agree to hook up with your exsisting group or project.i know my chops and i am embarresed to go about this in such a manner but i dont want to stop playing as a result of a bump in the road.we all could use a break sometime.i have a decent bass amp.please if you can help, you wont be dissapointed.i am not trying to play anybody, which is a rarity on craigslist. 555 5555/xxxxxxx@yahoo.com
