Yeah, but if it does what he wants, then it's worth it, right? Things are only worth what people are willing to pay anyways.

But, I do agree, I wouldn't spend that money on that kind of project.

it took a while before i said "where are the pickups?", and realized he used variax parts.

He's in a pretty "famous" touring band, and a first-call session musician in the UK too. So his instrument is pretty important to him. I guess that justifies having a nice one.

Ok, so the total invested is about 1900 GBp. Am I reading that correctly? If so that comes out to roughly $3600. Really not that out of line considering here a real Ibanez JEM can fetch over $2k, the Variax would run in the $500 range, the 24 LEDs (face and side) would run $820, and I wouldn't even want to try to guess on the finish.
