Ray Charles - kazoo
Stanley Clarke - those latin finger clacker things

But only if I'm really drunk. Otherwise let those guys play their respective instruments and let Tom Waits do whatever it is he does.

There are many others I like, but these guys would be my first choice.

You can't expect me to figure this out in one sitting. Just like "what is the greatest gitar riff of all time?" I would almost need to lock myself in a room for a few days to figure it all out. Remind me to do it tomorrow.

A story on the TB front page reminded me that I'd like to see this lineup...

Sting: bass/vocals
Andy Summers: guitar
Stewart Copeland: drums

...but I doubt I'll be seeing that particular combo again soon!

Zappa and Ler Lalonde on guitar, Geddy on bass, Stew Copeland on drums. That would be an eclectic bunch.

Robert Fripp: Guitar
Bill Bruford: Drums
Steve Wilson: Keys
Matt Till: Bass
Mike Patton: Vocals (maybe)

I'd bog everyone else down... but, that would be cool. I wouldn't hang out with Patton after the show though... Patton <3's Patton. I'd probably want some other percussion. I'd want to make crazy enegetic weird music, and I'd want a rhythmic singer. I wouldn't want Patton to "tatatatatatata pulat pow" all the time though.

An alternate:

Robben Ford - guitar
Christian McBride - bass
Ramsey Lewis - Keys www.ramseylewis.com
Max Roach - drums

That would be a band worth hearing!

Mike
