Custom bass cases?

Sign in to disble this ad
There are certainly enough custom bass-makers out there. How about custom case-makers? It sounds silly, but I may be willing to pay a bit extra for a case with the features / colors I want (not too much though, so it's probably silly. ) Still...do any exist?

yes

I don't think making a case would be that hard.

Hi.

There was a thread about it not long ago and someone posted an e-bay seller ad(s) for all sorts of traditional cases. The price was very reasonable.

If a flightcase will do, the price (and weight ) will be the only things to consider.

DIY is one option like said above:

Making a custom case for Epi LTD Explorer

Apparently G&G makes custom cases but I can't find much info on how to order one or how much they cost.

Update: I wrote to G&G and they wrote back. They can do custom cases for $180 each plus shipping or $325 for two plus shipping. Not bad prices. I plan on getting two so that's $162.50 each, plus shipping of course, so maybe another $30-$40 (hopefully not more than that anyway.) Musician's Friend charges $140 shipped but only have 4 color options. I think it's worth a little bit extra to be able to pick from their styles. They'll even do custom sizing if you send them a template.

I asked about a silver case with blue plush interior but they won't do that because that's exclusive to Rickenbacker. So I think I am going to get a cream tolex case with blue plush interior instead for my Wilkins custom. And a tweed case with gold plush interior for my '78 Fender jazz.
