I have a 20' Standard Monster Cable. I was wondering if it would be wise to cut the jack off of one end and replace it with a Right-Angle jack I have.
I'm only doing this because it's the longest cable I have, and I use it the most but I hate straight jack cables.
I don't see any problem with replacing the jack. I mean, I've repaired cables before, but I just wanted to ask in case Monster cables have some kind of funky cable design that isn't like any other cable.

Just stick a right-angle 1/4" plug/jack on one end. If you do replace the connector be sure to use Genuine M-C 90% Unobtanium - 10% silver alloy solder or you're likely to end up with those nasty inverted tri-phase vortex artifacts on the sub-octave...

If I wanted a right angle plug on my cable (I do), I would cut the straight one off in a heartbeat. It's a freakin cable. Wire. Metal encased in plastic. Just do it. How likely are you to want a warranty claim on a cable?

Walked into Sam Ash, handed over the old one, they hand me back a new one, I walk out. Simple... |

So on the one hand "yes" Monster cables work just like any other shielded cable, but "no" you can't assume it will be an easy job. |
