Daft question - Strap position

Hello,

Please forgive me for this very basic question.

I have just bought a Levy strap and have realised that I don't know which way to attach it to my bass. It has a thick end and an adjustable thinner end.

Does the thick end attach to the bridge pin or the neck pin, or is it just down topersonal preference?

Thick end on the neck pin. it's closer to your shoulder where the weight is carried.
