Dallas-Ft. Worth Bass GTG in 2006??

I'm just asking...seems like it's been quite a while since we had a get-together in D/FW.

Pete Skjold has always been gracious enough to host them in the past. Just wondering if anyone else is interested in having one.

...and NO, I can't have one at my house!

I'll talk to Pete about it. Hopefully we can get the turn out we had at the first one. We have actually tossed the idea around a few times.

JUNEAU!!
Fast reply, my man! I understand if Pete is swamped...and I'm very happy for him that his business is taking off. Just wondering if somehow we could still "get-together".

Im sure we can work something out. Chuck Rainey is back living in Dallas too, maybe we can get him to do a clinic. That should bring the crowds hehe.

We did agree no band this time, too many people seemed to lose interest at the last one while the band played, even though they were pretty good. I think this time, we might try and have some more clinics instead.

Give me a while, I'll see what Pete says and see if we can try and start organizing something. Maybe after this batch is done.

Hey Guys ,

I do have one in the works , it will most likely be in the fall though . I plan on featuring several hi profile bassist for a day long clinic fest . I am still researching possible venues and I think I may have some really good ones .

I am thinking September /Oct .

Pete

Thanks Pete. I think Juneau or Dr. Greg are available to teach the clinics.

What do you wanna learn John? Id be glad to teach how to play with poor technique, and I offer a master class in playing out-of-time as well.

Then again, with my Dingwall all I had to do was hit a low B and let it ring to impress folks at the GTG lol.

A clinic with Ed Friedland would be cool!

My Dad lives in Tucson where Ed came from - he said Ed was a great bassist.

Actually the first one I know of was organized by TuBass, sponsored by Larry Morgan Music and took place at a cajun restaurant downtown. The first one at Skjold had a better turnout though!

I look forward to meeting ya. If you got a Friday afternoon free, thats usually the best time to come by the shop. I am usually there from about 3:30pm - 5pm on Friday's myself taking pics of the current batch for everyone and generally wasting Pete's time hehe. So if you want to come by, feel free to PM me and I'll work it out with Pete and get you directions and all that jazz

Sunday afternoon is best for me, because that gives me a 50/50 chance of being off work and able to attend. I have yet to make a 'TB GTG' because they have all been held while I was at work.

That would be too much fun. Are you going to be there this Friday? I'm off work.
