Damn Customer Service

My 57 Reissue P-Bass is having problems again. The first time, the tone pot crapped out in less than 2 weeks of me getting it. I took it in to get set-up and I find that the bow in the neck can't be corrected.

So I shoot an email to customer service, and I've been waiting 3 days with no response. This is my first new fender, and I think it will be my last.

For a $1500 bass, this thing sure has had a lot of problems...

Ask for your money back the bass is not of merchantable quality. I dunno what the story is with consumer rights over there. They seem to be iffy at best or else people are uninformed. At the end of the day you've been sold an instrument that just doesn't work as it should. Get your money back and by a stingray somewhere else. If you bought a DVD player that had to be prised open because theres a twist in the disc holder would you not go and get your money back? Same thing

Instead of email, why don't you call them or go in and talk to whomever you bought it from? You'll get a far quicker response than email.

Agreed. E-Mails can be "lost". Phone 'em up and make them aware of your unhappiness with their product.

I ordered it off of musiciansfriend in October, and the thing arrived in late November.

Whats funny is my other bass is almost 50 years old and has never had any bowing...

Fender's warranty service operates through their authorized service centers. If you had taken it to an authorized Fender service center 3 days ago, you wouldn't be waiting for an answer. Here's where you can find them.

All you're going to get by going direct to Fender is that they'll tell you to take it to your nearest service center, who will inspect it and decide whether the neck needs to be replaced or if it can be adjusted.
