It's true what they say: TB gives you GAS! I was just looking over the 'arsenal', and since I joined TB in 200something, I've purchased (on account of recommendations on TB):
Nordstrand NP4 pup - $120
TI Flats - ~$50
DR Sunbeams - $30
D-Addario Chromes - $30
ST-200 tuner - $130
SX ss fretless w/ gig bag - $130
Gotoh bridge - $40
Vintage Vibe pups - $100
MIJ p bass - $ 350
LMII head - $400
Schroeder cab - $370
New bass (deal almost closed) ~$600!

Geeeez! That's over two large right there, not including shipping and other random $h1! Where does it end?!

Background: I inherited an old Squier II p-bass with broken pups, and an old Hartke B-60 combo, also broken. New pups, strings and a soldering iron and I was the cheapest bassist on the block, with a solid gigging rig.

Now look at me

OTOH, my coke habit has settled down a bit...

In all seriousness, that's all you spent? Not bad. Once again, I'm being serious.

Simple. To avoid spending, simply have no source of income.

Doesn't solve the GAS though....

Exactly. In my first three years here, I probably dropped more than $5k. Since then I haven't spent much, but that is only because I like my current set up and I am broke.

Relative to my total worth, it's staggering...
