Im having a woman over for a dinner date at my house. I need suggestions, nothing that will scare her away and preferably not too cheesy or cliche. |

If it's on your iPod you should be able to stand it, and it will tell you what she's into. This is assuming that there's a wide varity available.

Avoid too slick music, and music appealing only to music nerds.
I'd probably put on a record with Katie Melua or Solomon Burke, or a nice straightahead jazz record by e.g. Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, Donald Byrd or Diana Krall. Perhaps some Beatles could work too, or Frank Sinatra.
Make a playlist with various music that doesn't end after an hour or two.

Johnny Mathis ballads are also often well-received in such venues.

No personal details. Just confirmation of the music that was well-received.

It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

I put on Kind of Blue for my girlfriend the other night, just for hanging around and cuddling on the couch. She liked it. |
