DC Brick vs. Voodoo Labs 2

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a search and didn't find anything I could use after about 10 pages.

I want to power the pedal board I'm building and keep it neat. I don't want a ton of wall warts and black spagetti all over the place. Which of these two would you recommend for the following pedals. The DC Brick is about $100 and the Voodoo Labs 2 is about $170.00. I can afford either one, but that's a big difference. Is it worth it? I am very concerned about tone and extra hum noise.

Pedals:
Boss RC 20 XL
Boss TU-2
Boss Bass EQ
Akai Deep Impact
Electro Harmonix POG
Analogman Chorus (not yet aquired)
Emma discomBOBulator (not yet aquired)

I'm also going to have a short extension outlet on the board for my Shure Wireless system. I'll probably plug the power supply to that extension outlet on the board too.

Thanks for your help in advance. Bob

well, IMO the voodoo labs is worth the extra money. Each output is isolated and short circuit protected. The Brick is perfectly good also, but I'll take the voodoo anytime.

My guitarist got the brick then sent it back, it won't handle some power supplies, like the ones on EHX pedals, it just doesn't say that anywhere.
