I have started actually listening to Death Angel instead of just name dropping them to little kids when I hear them talking about Avenged Sevenfold and 5 Finger Butt Punch.
I mean Death Punch.
Its weird, because it sounds a lot like what the newer "metalsortakinda" bands are doing today, just without the formula behind it.
The whole screaming/thrash verse, singing/slower riff chorus, BREAK DOWN CHUGGA CHUGGA!!!
Its actually cool from these guys. |

An underrated thrash classic, IMO.

| | | | Just saw them recently with Anthrax and Testament. Can't say I was ever a real fan of theirs back in the day, but they definitely made a convert out of me at that show. I knew about them back in the 80s but it took me 20 years to get into them |

Those guys and Exodus are still going strong, but you don't hear much about them in the mainstream.
Oh yeah, and Five Finger Butt Plunge along with Hatebreed need to be omitted from Sirius/XM's Liquid Metal station. If they want to play hardcore, they should make a hardcore station for all that tough guy crap.

But anyways, my first exposure to Death Angel was when a buddy of mine put The Ultra-Violence on and it just sounded ridiculously awesome to me, and have been listening to them since.
Also if you like them you should check out some Destruction, those two usually always seem to go together, if I listen to one of them, usually got the other comin up soon after.
