So I bought a set of SCN Pickups and installed them on my MIM Deluxe Jazz. Everything worked great. A week later I get my no holes pickup covers from guitar parts recourse. They didn't fit right and I was pissed. So after messing with the cover trying on different ones I had lying around I settle on cutting my school ID to size, spray painting it, and putting them in the covers so the poles don't poke through. I try it out, and the neck pickup doesn't work. I check all the wiring and nothing the pickup was busted. I posted about it here and no help. So I toon it to guitar center today where I bought it and the tech tested it and said it doesn't seem to have been my fault. So the manager dude talks to me and tries to push me around you know? Keeps trying to point out that in the warranty it suggests that I have a professional install them. So I point out it's only a suggestion and doesn't void anything. But he keeps pointing it out so I admit it and tell him its irrelevant. He leaves and calls fender and comes back. He says we gotta send them to fender and they'll send a new set for me. Sounds good to me. Then he says I have to pack them up so I ask if they're taking them out or if he wants me to go and do it. He days it doesn't matter and that's not his job. giving me the hint that he's trying to stick it to me by either having me go home to do it or have me pay for it. Luckily the tech let me use his soldering iron and I did it right there and was on my way. So in a few weeks Ill have a new set.
