defretting problems...

Sign in to disble this ad
i just finished defretting my Cort standard p-bass... its my first defretting and i think i did a pretty good job... filled in the slits with wood glue.. was that a good move?

cant play it cuz everybody is asleep

so i wait till the monring.. ::sigh::

edit...

ok just got to play it today with a nice volume..

and i noticed that my neck kind of "bows" its curved in.. i tried to loosen up the trus rod and it didnt do much... and i kept getting buzz so i had to raise my bridge.. and it made it almost impossible to hammer and and get good pull offs...

so err.. how loose do i have to make my trus rod?

I finished my first defret a few weeks back and used liquid wood (plastic stuff I think)... it sounds ok! But then again, the bass is crap anyway

As long as the tone's ok, and the fretboard is smooth, then I don't think there'll be a problem with using wood glue!

Did you sand your neck too much? If so... you might have buggered the neck up for good... no truss rodd adjustment would help there...
