did anyone see the new aleve commercial?

It had a bass player who had bad arthritus and he told his story about how aleve helped him. That made my day. I like it when people acknowlege bass as an istrument that takes skill to play instead of just a sound.

That P-bass would like better with a tortoise shell pickguard.

^^^ 123.

i also saw a beer commercial advertising Sam Adams (i think) where there was this one scene with a guy holding a black p-bass.
Coors (the beer) company has a poster of an all chrome/silver j bass that i see at the little cuban restuarants here a lot. is there some sort of relation between beer and bass?

Yeah I saw the Aleve commercial too. It looks like a brand new P-bass and it also looks like it has the strings from the price tag hangin from the headstock. I think the guys name is McWeeney. I wonder if he's a TalkBass member?

The Aleve ad seemed so cool to me...cool in that they could have just as easily chosen a (cough) guitarist. I'm really glad they chose one of us, a bass player. Still, cynic that I am, I wonder if they didn't choose a professional actor and drilled him on the scale/riff he played so he would look credible.

I think that they couldn't find a guitarist that could act.

Unlikely, because that's more trouble than finding a credible guy who has arthritis and plays bass.

Also, without disclaimers such as (paid actor), they can be challenged legally because this was presented as a personal testimony.

No he is an actual "regular guy" bassist. He's a friend of mine. I worked with him for a few years and I saw his band play a few times. He's a really good bassist too. Lives in upstate New York plays nothing but P-basses and really uses Aleve.
I used to always tell him if McDonalds ever came out with a hot dog....

Maine is the upper right hand corner. The guy you'tr talking about is more in the Wisconsin/Minnesota area in the graphic.
