Hi people, Im after some other cool basslines to learn, stuff like
Chic - Good Times / I Want Your Love
Narada Michael Walden - Should Have Loved Ya
Grace Jones - Pull Up To The Bumper
Anything with that kinda feel please. I cant play them properly anyway, but I got the basics down, and anything that sounds that mint keeps me practising

G--------------------------------------
D--------5------5----5----5----5------
A---------------------------------------
E------3-----3----3----3----3-----------
but when good bassists write stuff for disco i really like it.
so a well earned bump!

| | | Yeah I know half of it is octaves in time with the beat, but I want songs with a groove, just make you smile hearing it and think "Yep".
Theres a drum instruction video on Youtube, by Jeff Porcaro. At the end he plays a song called "Creature Stomp" - the bass to it is mint, and you can see the guy just loving playing it.

Song comes in at 4:10 - watch the guys face when he's playing.... awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJL7hbd7ZKA

Do you know where I can get it without McCartney singing on it? Just an instrumental? Cos I dislike the cheesy one! |

"Boogie Oogie Oogie" by A Taste Of Honey always struck me as being the archetypal disco bassline. Not the solo, but the rest of it. |
