There is something to be said about having awesome in-laws. Good stuff sir.

The handle on the back looks like it may have come off of a walker

the handle is made with a sun chair (aluminum)
the lower part is the old bed stair of a camper (aluminum)
the white parts and the upper parts (where the neck goes) are made with an iron pipe

I'd like to place my order please. GC wants 70 or 80 dollars for a similar stand.
Wait just saw 3 euros?? Not sure what the current exchange rate is but I could pony up 5 for one. 5 1/2 if he will throw in shipping.

Very cool!! It's easy to build one out of PVC. PVC is cheap and all you need is a saw and some glue......and a bunch of elbows and T's

I notice three empty spots. You know it is a G.A.S. Generator

Awesome! Then I suppose as you add more basses to the collection, you could just cut and splice the pipe together! Hmmmm...got me thinking now, I have a bunch of leftover sprinkler pipe in the garage!

Question, do you still pad it with something? Or is the plastic "soft" enough for the bass?

Very nice. Except, when I use my multi-stand, I lean the basses so the strings are against the rubber on the pipes that stick out. Make sense?
As you can see in the background:

Which way is correct, I wonder?

PVC is nice as well because you can fill bottom tubes with sand or some other weight to make it sturdier.

Nice DIY build.

Suggestions:

1) add a "latch" for each bass so that it would keep the basses from falling out of the stand if it is bumped.

2) Extend the legs of the stand out a bit to make the base of the stand wider to add some stability, especially if holding up to 50 lbs of bass.

3) add some dividers at the bottom so that when a bass is removed or put away, it will be guided into position so at to not bump the bass next to it.

it's near a wall in my bedroom so I hope will not be bumped,
extended legs are a good idea, anyway it's pretty stable, and I also can regulate the inclination if I want.

I would still use the pipe insulation. It's cheap and keeps the basses from slipping and sliding on the stand. I've made two of them from PVC and ended up giving both away. I've cut down my bass collection to 4 and they all hang on the wall.

You can fill the tubing on the bottom with sand to make it more stable. I make all sorts of things out of PVC including a photography light box and tool holders for my shop machinery.

what's the purpose of putting the strings against the rubber? no wear on the neck?? or ??

Nice father in law... I had to shell out 65 bux for mine... but mine has a nice curve in it
