DIY Funk Fingers

I'm really interested in making some Funk Fingers soon, and I've yet to find a nice tutorial or anything online, so I came up with an idea for myself. If you guys have made some, feel free to tell me what you did. Also, tell me if this sounds like it would work.

1. Take 2 drumsticks, and cut them to x" (will find x later)
2. Cut a slit in the top of one drumstick about 1.5".
3. Put a loop of Velcro (so you can attatch it to your fingers) inside of the slits.
4. Fill top of velcro in the slit with wood glue.
5. Rawk out.

Sound like it would work?

sounds like what Tony did at first.
Years ago (maybe 89/90?) I attended a private birthday party in upstate NY. The band "Uncle Funk" played for the party. I met Tony and talked shop with him....this was right about the time he was making the funk finger prototypes. I remember him using tape to keep them on his fingers.

Sure...I don't think there's really any science to it, as long as you get the length you want and the don't fall apart, I think you'll be fine.
