DMX and channels - help
 

I'm a total noob at this. I want to use some Chauvet ColorPalette for front lighting and some Chavet Slimpar 56 for back lighting. I haven't purchased any thing yet.

The colorpalette is a 6, 9, 15, or 27 channel DMX light. The Slimpar 56 is 3 or 7 channel.

Can I use these two together in either master/slave mode where they all slowly fade from one color to the next or in DMX mode controlled by some type of controller? I don't know if all my lights have to have the same number/type of channels.
