Do all basses.......?

It seems that when I play a particular note or certain notes played on one string, usually the G string, my A string will ring. Its not normaly a problem but it does interfere when im trying to play something melodic and soft. Any one ever heard of this?

I usually mute the other strings when I'm on the G...with my right hand. I sometimes hear about this with a low B, but once again, my hand is usually there.

String muting is part of learning proper technique. Sympathetic ringing happens at varying degrees with ALL basses, and a proper muting technique is essential when playing basses with 6, 7 strings, etc.
