Do I just hear weird or something?

Whenever my "I can tune without a tuner because i'm the best even though I'm always sharp" guitar player is out of tune and we are playing together, for some reason it sounds to my ear that it's the bass that's causing everything to sound bad, like the guitar is right and I AM the one playing the wrong notes.

Is this just my own perception or is this common? Or do you even know *** I'm talking about because I suck at explaining? <_<

This has happened to me. I actually stopped playing once at a jam (no audience) to check my tuning since I sounded so off. It was bang on.

It was the rhythm guitar. After about 3 hours of fiddling with the tuning, he finally used a tuner.

He's louder... there will be some dissonance, but due to physics, it sounds like the bass will be wrong, IIRC.

Set your eq where you cut through the mix well, play with confidence and authority, and the audience will hear the bass as in tune, even if you are off.

the audience will just hear somethings out of tune. they wont be able to tell if the guitar is tuned 5cents higher or if the bass is tuned 5 cents lower. theyll just think your band sucks
