Do songwriters wear out?

Sign in to disble this ad
Have you ever wondered why great songwriters seem to "wear out"? What is it that makes a songwriter who can write 10 hits but can't write 11?

My only theory is that we don't realize how hard they work at writing, and they get to a point where they are tired of working so hard when they don't need to any longer.

Thoughts?

Maybe they're too busy figuring out how to spend their money.

i think most of the times they pysche themselves out in their mind. they try to figure out what they did or thought that made their "hits" and try to recreate it or do the opposite. They end up just going mad try to fix the process and not the song. It can be frustrating I'm sure.
