Question Do you get bass withdrawal? How do you cope?

It's been almost a week since I took in my Fender custom J to the shop for some repairs - the input jack was popping and it had developed a grounding issue. Sure, I have a couple other basses (a cheapie Ibanez fretless and a 40 years old Maya Jazz bass) but while I do play them in the interim, it feels like something is missing. Now I understand what my father says when he claims he feels naked without a watch. It's like something that is with me every day is suddenly gone and there's nothing I can do to get it back but wait! Argh!

So here I sit, playing my other basses, practicing theremin, but it's just not the same without my Fender here. I need a fix!

Am I the only one who experiences this?

And if I get any snarky remarks from someone who has 30 sweet basses, I'ma giv 'em what-for.

Due to the weight of my gear, and the distance from my practice area, I have to leave ALL my gear there for at least a week, every other week. It is very "painful" sometimes to be without my other half for a week.

To cope I just do lots, and lots of airbass.

Ouch. That's gotta really suck.

I went on vacation and I didn't bring my bass. It didn't stop me from having a good vacation, but it was always nagging me in the back of my mind

It does, but life goes on.

It is all the more satisfying when you get it back, then you play for 8 or 9 hours.
