got me thinking: No that never ends......

For me it's sequences ; when I was younger it was all about the amp , I once had the 2/15"-4/10"-4/5" Hartke kit bi-amped with 2 Bryston 4B !
That was 20 years ago , now I have a TD100 direct in my RCF ART 310A.
27lbs , and I can go to my gig by bike.....

Then it was the Studio phase ( when I started making more cash ) I have bought a lot of studio goodies , preamps , comps ,mics , the list is very long , put ALOT of money in it.
Luckily , it has all been paid for itself. It's fun to have different choices of preamp to bring to a gig , but I'm a bit worried to bring the 2800$ mic pre to a bar gig.

I can feel that it's now shifting to an instrument phase , I already have basses , upright , guitars , keys but I feel the urge to get some more.
For the last 15 years , I mostly played on my 5 string fretless that just got stolen , maybe that's why.......

What about you , how do you deal with GAS ?
( no Rolaid jokes please )

There is an endless amount of stuff that I'd like to get if I only had the money - Studio equipment, basses, guitars, new pickups, preamps, mics, PA stuff etc etc etc. I just can't afford it, especially as I'm not gigging more than perhaps once a month or so.

I sort of had it, induced primarily by hanging out here. However, once I got my current amp/cabinet configuration I haven't been tempted to make any changes or try out any other toys.

Since trying a Stingray a few years ago I haven't been tempted to trade it for anything. Now that I have a Precision V and a fretless Jazz I don't feel at all tempted to trade anything just to try something else. I'm actually feeling quite happy with my basses and bass gear.

That being said, I just bought a new house after having my old one paid off for the last several years so the huge drop in my disposable income could be a big factor, too.

Yeah, I suck, I know that. But at least I suck a little less than I did yesterday.

I don't deal well at all with GAS. I need to stay off of forums and boards. I should be happy with my current rig. It gets me through all my gigs and judging from comments of others, sounds great. It's small, light, 1 trip load in, etc. My basses aren't boutique, but sound really nice and play great.

Still, I always find myself looking. I guess there's nothing wrong with that.
