I was thinking about making a 5 string bass with a nut to accompany a higher string, instead of the lower....

do you know of anyone who has done it?

I dont want to get into details, but im messing around with tunings and strings and whatnot, and i was just wondering if it was possible.. cause then i could just get a cheap 5 string and modify the nut...

Just about every luthier that makes a 5 string Bass with a low B also offers the option of a High C string as well.so to answer your ? yes it has been done and it's being done.
