A buddy of mine told me that on late night t.v. this week there was a newly discovered, great heavy funk band. It was fronted by a girl who did some cool James Brown type moves, etc. He thought maybe they had been discovered or signed by P.Diddy. I can't find anything.. Help?

She was on Ellen the other day. Can't remember her name but she and the band were pretty good.

Nice- I'm not awake enough to ingest it yet, though. Why in OT?

The strings and backing vocal melodies sound heavily influenced by Jamiroquai.

I think I far prefer the music as apposed to her singing. Maybe a different song would grow on me.

The Dap Kings, possibly? They've been making some SERIOUS noise.
And my friend's one of the guitarists in the band.

Check it: (Live in France)
