Listening to Zep today and was reminded of how squeaky John Bonhams pedal was. It seems to be on almost ALL their songs.

What do you think??

Never noticed, but if I gotta hear a squeaky pedal to hear bonzo's thunder, then so let it be written; so let it be done.

Edit: Voted carrots- I need to eat more veggies.

That's not his pedal making that sound, it's the shear force of air pressure coming out from beyond his mighty hoof.

I don't hear any squeaky pedals... but I'm listening to a re-mastered collection... so it may have been removed.

Ive never heard any squeaky pedals at all. I do remember a story where Keith Moon tried to play Bonhams kit and complained because Bonham used to tighten his bass drum pedal as tight as possible (and he could still play really fast).

I don't like John Bonham, or Led Zep for that matter, so it doesn't bother me.

I can respect Jaco as a player but I can't sit down and listen to hours of it. I completely understand that.

"Since I've been loving you" on Led Zepp III is the best example

Can't say I've noticed but I'm also listening to the re masters, so as has been said already it may have been removed.

Can't say it would bother me if it was there, what an AWESOME drum sound! I really liked Zep for not bothering too much with the slicker points of recording and just going for good feel.

love it. what do you expect? he was probably using the supplied Ludwig Speed King Pedal. If you've ever played one you'd realize what a piece of **** they are and you'd know why they squeak so much.

I had to strain my ears to hear it.

Damn you if I notice it more and more when I listen to Led Zep after this!

I hear it! I guess I just had to know what i was looking for. Eh i don't think it messes up the sound unless you look for it.
