Got a new SR5 in that's pretty hefty, so I'm looking for a good long leather strap for it.

I'm a big dude that wears his bass around my waist line.

I've never spent this much on a strap before, and that's why I wanted to check first.

I'm interested in these two straps:

Strap 1

Strap 2

Thanks guys!

Strap one seems over-priced. Have you looked at the new Reunion Blues straps

I just ordered an italia strap, extra long. I am expecting it in the mail here in the next few days. I am a big dude as well, and hoping it sits right around my belt line.

I have this one, which is probably the equal of the ones from LM products, but for less. I like it a lot and has made my ASAT bass much more manageable. A substantial, wide-pad strap is small change for getting a big bass to hang comfortably. I'm never going back.

The only shortcoming of the Levy's #29 (the one I got) is that it's only 50" long. The LM you're looking at goes up to 65" which is also what you're looking for. It'll be the best $89 or $99 you ever spent on gear, and if it isn't, Musicians Friend has a 30-day return policy.

I like my Franklin 3" suede straps, man. They're pretty long because they are frequently used for acoustic guitar (in fact, I cut a new hole into mine because even at its smallest, it's too long for me)

Although I've heard good things about Italia straps, they're a little out of my price range right now.

+1 on the Italia straps. I have three of them. Longest I have found.
