Does Yngwie Malmsteen come off as a bit arrogant?

I really respect the fact that he is a legend, and one of the best. But I hardly ever read an interview, or watch a video where he isn't a bit into himself.

He's a bit arrogant in the same way that falling into the ocean will make you a bit wet.

And for what it's worth, I don't like him much as a musician. Playing scales extremely fast with no real musical context bores me to tears.

I like his playing, but watching vids of him he tends to come off a bit self absorbed.

The few interviews with him that I've seen he didn't seem so, but I also don't really pay much attention to him.

TRUST ME> "later on", that Swede liked him some donuts. Or struedel. Or something ultra fat. Enough so they needed to stitch an extra cow into his trousers.

It's funny because he's impossible to take seriously... what a small, sad, ridiculous excuse for a man...

What an appropriate link for such a good analogy. Also my favorite Malmsteen moment. My friends and I usually joke around with it. "YOU'VE UNLEASHED THE FURY!"

You have unleashed THE FO**ING FURY!!!!

I sometimes try to analyze why he's that arrogant. Maybe he's just frustrated that he's gotten that fat. Or it may be something about those scallops. All speculation, though.

Just as the bass tends to attract a lot of folks who are somewhat low key and introverted, the lead guitar seems to draw the opposite personality type.
