I had a coupon code for 15% off , it was going to be used on a ric I already got a Deep discount on, i called one agent and they said nope i cant do that you already got alot off , I called back a few days later and no fuss the lady said alright 190$ is going back to your account.

It seems there is alot of leeway with these retailers,l have had this happen before with a ric case. One person said we cant do anything , the next person sent me a free case.

Same goes with music123 i have had price requests that didnt go through and other times they beat it.

I times are tough and saving money is of importance , you should never have to pay full blown price for things.

There are some cool agents to deal with ,

One of the sales people, at one of those places you mentioned, told me to call back if I don't like what I hear. She of course gave me the deal I was looking for, but said that it all depends on the person you get on the phone. They are allowed on most products to go down to a number they have right in front of them on the screen. Usually a lot less than the advertised price. Some will, some won't, it all depends on who you're talking to. Pretty sure it's a comission thing. There are also prices they're locked into, usually on new products. She said that it sometimes is a no go regardless of who you get.

I was able to with a little haggling get the manager to wheel a bit on the maplglow , since i had ordered a MID ric over the summer at a certain price, i dont realy feel obligated to talk numbers but if someone is smart at math they could figure out how much i paid to it prior to the additional 15% off i got byt my first post.

and if you figure it out keep it to your self, Im making tb learn math

Yep, do it all of the time. Even at my closest Guitar center. They know I always get a 15% coupon e-mailed to me at least once every 1 to 3 months and can get free shipping and no tax from Musicans Friend so they simply sell me whatever I want for 23% off of what they normally sell it for. Got a few great deals the last 2 years on 2 new amps, an acoustic bass, an acoustic guitar and 1 electric bass. Also gave me one heck of a trade in on my kids drum set he no longer wanted. I think I only lost $100.00 on everything from what I purchased it for.

Something that happened to me that might be helpful…

I bought a used GK MB500 head ($500 new) for $375, and it came dead. I called and wanted a new one for the same price, but the girl on the phone twice went to “talk to her manager”, but couldn’t do more than 10% off a new one,

So I asked to speak to this manager, myself.

She put me on hold again, came back and said they’d do it.
