Don't want to go home.

The wife just called me...

Found my bass on the floor and all the cables to the pedal, mixer and amp are chewed up.

Really feeling a bit sick at the moment.

I really really really don't want to go home.

This is the cause of my pain.

Some guy with a beard came into your house and chewed up your cables? Why didn't your dog chase him off?

Sorry man. Hope the damage is minor.

mjac28 11-28-2012 02:31 PM

Man happened to me once and it really sucks I'm a dog lover but I couldn't believe my pal did me like that. I would have the wife put the dog up so your brain can digest it all and you can decompress here is my problem child!!!!

I had one eat the grill off my polytone amp.

VitalSigns 11-28-2012 02:35 PM

Sounds like he was jealous.

Or maybe you should lock your bass in a cage when you leave.

mjac28 11-28-2012 02:38 PM

It sucks I wasn't as mad when one of the kids did something but my dog,my buddy,my pal stabbed me in the back that hurt I can still remember the look in her eyes " I'm sorry I couldn't help it I'm a dog we screw up from time to time" but it's like you have this one thing in the house that's "yours" man I feel for you if you need some cables I have a nice Mogami bass cable and a couple of patch cords you can have for free.

By the time you get home the dog will have forgotten what it did so there is not even a lesson or punishment that can be administered properly.

True bummer about your cables. I hope the bass is all right.

I have a giant dog too (she's long grown out of the chewing stage tho), but this is reason #139 why I keep basses in cases and stored behind closet doors when not in use.

Roadkill 11-28-2012 02:53 PM

Maybe your wife didn't want you buying more gear as she thought you already had plenty so your buddy decided to help you out :D ?

gumtownbassman 11-28-2012 02:57 PM

maybe your wife chewed it up and is now blaming the dog.

BeJay 11-28-2012 02:58 PM

She is trying to do an inventory for me right now.
Hopefully I not going to be out a lot money replacing cables.

Since its a carpeted floor - I am assuming the bass is alright.

When it was in another room I had to make time every day to play. When it sits next to me its easy to make time.

Oh well, it is what it is. If that is what I have to do, then its what I have to do.

That's a great attitude to have.
Getting mad and hating on the dog doesn't get you anywhere.

My pitty could chew clear through a bass neck in under 15 minutes I'm sure :D .

MarkMgibson 11-28-2012 03:21 PM

My German Shepherd would never dare do such a thing, but then he's a Knight Of The Realm - "Sir Zachary".

It's a bummer, but what can you do?

MatticusMania 11-28-2012 03:28 PM

No way a cat would ever do that... :D

But on the real, sorry to hear about your gear.

Only thing my cat ever did to my cab was cover it in fur, because I didnt put a cover on it.
