Green Day all the way. Been to 4 Green Day shows and I'm set to go again next time they come up! Blink was good when I saw them way back in '02.. Or was it '01.. Hrm. Anyhow, they were good but Green Day is better

I must agree. I have seen both (from front of stage and back stage). Green Day is the better show. Not even close.

I do like to watch Travis Barker drum -- he is very talented.
But that is the only + for Blink 182. All other factors point to Green Day as the better band and better show.

If that's where they are going that's probably where ill be! Money willing, I have a wedding coming up. One thing I always loved about the GD concerts is they'll pull up 3 people from the crowd and "make a band". They'll put the 3 people on the instruments and quickly teach them whatever part of the song they are on. Then they usually GIVE the instruments to the people at the end of the song.

Great shows!

No disrespect intended. Tre Cool does a great job driving Green Day. High energy - perfect for that band.

But, in my opinion, Barker is the better drummer. Did not appeciate it that much the first few times I saw him. Then I saw him at the Buck Owens tribute concert and he was completely at home playing country and rockabilly. After that, I paid attention to his fills and feet. Gotta say, that guy has much more going for him than what he shows in Blink. Just a really solid drummer.

Although I firmly believe GD is the better band I completely agree with this comment. Barker is a solid drummer.

Blink's stage banter makes me laugh. So I'll take them. Rock concert AND standup comedy!

I wouldnt go to either one. However Green Day has been doing it longer, and have probably developed a better live presentation.

...and sorry but Travis Barker is not a great drummer.

Guess its how you view a great drummer to be. I'd say with the size of his kit, how he keeps the tempo very consistent, and his seamless fills makes him a pretty darn good drummer. But don't get me wrong, he's no Neil Pert .

Great Drummers:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF-k4wg70rg The Professor

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEXGS...e=channel_page Mike Portnoy (and I even hate dream theatre, hes still awesome)

And my personal favorite, the highly underappreciated Brann Dailor of Mastodon:

All great drummers, no doubt about it.

How can you not like Dream Theater!

What about "punk" though? What's your oppinion of a great "punk" drummer? If I knew we were comparing apples to oranges I would have thrown in John Bonham and Carter Beauford in there too!

Well, I dont really think punk music puts a lot of emphasis on technical ability. I have heard that the guy from Dropkick Murphys is really good when he performs at drum clinics, but he doesnt do anything exceptional within the band.

How bout these guys:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzmvo9ZL0MU Bill Stevenson of ALL, formerly of Black Flag

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=491tCG5f4zc JOhn Freese of the Vandals

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXbmBmBvVKk Jordan Burns, probably my favorite because of the strong metal influence in his playing.

But seriously I dont think any of those guys could out play the guys I listed before.

Can I count: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyKlvVPpxo8 ?

I've seen both. I was not impressed with Blink 182. Green Day however put on an amazing show. Tight and together. The first time I saw Green Day was at our school pub and there was only about 30 people there. It was a lot of fun. Then they became huge and I kind of wrote them off. A buddy of mine had an extra ticket during the American Idiot tour and asked if I wanted to come along. I didn't have one of their albums or anything. I was totally impressed.

This is the hollow shell of what once was the Vandals. Peace Thru Vandalism and When In Rome Do As The Vandals is what I know to be the Vandals. This stuff is just
