Sometimes this are things our granny said...It`s a fact or far from true??
I am very bad at drawing and have bad pulse while trying to be very tidy when writing letters, but I can play...
Share your experience, do you think it matters??

Have a bad pulse? What is that?

Anyhow, I can't draw a comma or a semi-colon.
And paint? A house maybe. A picture? Never.

But I can bench press 345. Does that count for anything?

I meant that sometimes people think that if a kid is good at hand craft and using there hands for other arts he also has a gift for playing an instrument of more ease for that..It is only what I`ve heard people said sometime..

I see absolutely no correlation between drawing or painting well to being a good musician. The two have completely different skill sets involved.

I disagree that there is no correlation. But it is possible to be great at one or the other.

Reading and delving into areas of creativity other than music brings freshness to your music.

I don`t know, I thought having a good hand for doing art crafts or painting means having more ability for using your hands when playing an instrument

I see no relation. I can't draw to save my life either. Have you ever seen John Lennon's drawings? They were far from great, and we all know the great composer that he was.

That means you have good eye-brain-hand co-ordination (which is useful), but the "best" players have superb ear-brain-hand co-ordination.

Think of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Art Tatum & Jeff Healey. Compare & contrast with Linda McCartney.

I'm sure there are relationships between drawing and writing with regard to visual/spacial organization, creativity, patience, ability and desire to practice something.

I am halfway good painter and graphic designer, but nobody is able to read when I write by hand
And I still suck at playing

A bit more serious now:
if you're good at painting or drawing, it just means (like Deathblade Eric said) that you have
a good eye-brain-hand coordniation, but that doesn't mean that you're going to play well.
My brother for example tried to learn bass a few years ago for months and he just didn't get it.
But he is an awesome (and I mean really awesome) artist, draws very realistic paintings and builds sculputres
that are so realistic that a few of them are presented in museums of natural science.
My old guitar player on the other side was one of the most gifted musicians I've ever met,
plays 6 instruments (sax, drums, bass, guitar, keys and cello) but if he starts to draw something
serious, it just looks like a 4 year old put his thumb into paint and tried something out

also maybe "Drawing and painting (well)" is a good idea.

It doesn't matter that you do other activities with great skill. It matters that you do many things even computer games, that can expand your mental, emotional and physical horizons and health.
